What capacity should I choose for my humidor? And: Is the humidification system sufficient?

Answer based on the example of a beginner who wants to store around 20 cigars of unknown size.

The optimal humidor capacity does indeed depend on the intended storage quantity. The capacities mentioned are, of course, only rough guidelines and are calculated based on Corona cigars. So if you mainly store Panatelas, you will probably be able to fit more in, but if you smoke Churchill cigars, the capacity may be sufficient for fewer cigars in your case. If you are storing a good box of cigars, a model for approx. 50 cigars makes perfect sense. Experience shows that people tend to store more than they think they will. It is therefore advisable to buy a size larger. However, there are many smokers who really only want to keep a dozen or so cigars. In that case, I would buy a smaller size. The humidifiers in all humidors are designed for normal filling. This should be at least 50% of the total capacity or total volume. The humidor should be filled to >50% capacity. (It doesn't matter how many cigars you need for this.)

All our GERMANUS humidors are equipped with a humidification system that is appropriate for the humidor. We don't just make rough estimates, we actually test every model.
